The last month of the year is here, and I am very excited! I get to have my very first business strategy call for my own business! I have done a lot of growing and shifting this year, and I'm super hopeful for 2023 to continue that theme!
It's about time to start thinking of a word for 2023, and Consistency was the word for this year, and I think the past two years before as well.
You know what I've learned about “consistency”? It's like the old adage that the only constant in life is change…I am only consistent in striving for consistency!
It took me a while to figure that out about myself, and I don't know if I will keep it as my word to focus on next year. I'll let you know when I figure it out.
Did you have a word for this year, or have you landed on one for next year? Hit reply and let me know, either way, I'd love to hear about it.
I am trying to enjoy this month and the closure and hope it brings with it, while also being very grounded at the moment and taking in all the little pieces of life around me.
That's one of the biggest things I learned and put into practice this year thanks to the life/business coaching I took part in with Coach Amber B; she helped me learn how to be genuinely in the moment, be aware of my surroundings, and be fully present. I am very seated in a mindset of always being ready to protect and act and never fully in the moment. I am also usually multi-tasking and trying to solve problems that aren't related to what is going on at the moment.
That leads to a lot of mental fatigue and adds to my issues with memory recall because I am not fully involved in what is currently happening. By learning to be grounded and present, I can recall the little details, and the memories are more alive.
With two precious nieces to enjoy, I want to make sure my brain is engaged with them and not worrying about my business or other things during my precious time with them and my family and friends.
If you have this same tendency as me, you're not alone, in this day and age, most of us do. Our attention spans get shorter every day (hence IG and TikTok videos are now supposed to be less than 30 seconds because no one watches for a full minute), but we can train our brains to do better. Check Amber out. If you need some coaching or want to follow her to get insights on all this, she has tons of great info.
Another coach I have worked with that is the biggest brain nerd I know and has multiple brain, and neuro certifications is Coach Kate, I'll link her as well.
I can't think of anything better for a new year than to focus on training your brain…and maybe I just picked my word to focus on next year - Present (as in being present in the moment). Hmmmm, I'm gonna think about that one.
